THE BATHTUBS OF THE SERIES SQUARO PRESTIGE
The Squaro Prestige series bathtubs have a standard size of 1800 x 800 mm and are in Alpine White. They are made of Quaryl, a mixture of quartz stone and acrylic resin. The material convinces with a good heat insulation and slip resistance. In addition, it is UV-resistant and insensitive to scratches. The exclusive appearance of the Squaro Prestige bathtub will last a long time and will not get unsightly scratches.
The freestanding bathtubs are covered with one of six surfaces made of real wood veneer. European Oak, Chestnut, Amapa maser Veneer, amber tree, Yew, Smoked Oak and the leather surface Mocha. This surface is also available for the Octagon washbasin (as well as Chestnut), creating a uniform look. Each of the woods has its own features and visual characteristics, so each bathroom is individually designed. For example, the Oak has a mild shade of brown, the Chestnut a darker tone. With some types of wood, the texture and the annual rings can be seen more clearly than at the others. The surfaces are available in matt or high gloss depending on the type of wood.
Each tub has a chrome-plated and a white drain and overflow. Villeroy & Boch recommends using the chrome-colored overflow for the white bathtubs to create a contrast. Each bathtub also contains a care kit, which consists of wax, polishing cloths and a repair varnish. Thus, the surface retains its luster and natural beauty for a long time.
Most of the veneers for the Squaro Prestige series are so-called flat-knife veneers. These are cut from the tree trunk in layers. However, the veneer of the Amapa is obtained by peeling. The veneers are removed from the tree out of growths located in the lower part. Some veneers, such as oak, are also are smoked after removal. They are first cut from the tree and then get an ammonia finish. This gives the wood a darker color and it becomes more elastic and thus easier to process. Resulting from the smoking process, the wood will be more durable and light-resistant compared to untreated woods. Pickling is also a form of working the wood. The wood structures are more apparent and in the case of chestnut get dark brown to black, which creates a noble look.
